Good food, but we may not be back

I've been looking forward to trying Yudi's Deli, co-located in the old Shell station on East Manoa Road along with Boston Pizza and It's A Beautiful Day Kafe.

The food didn't disappoint. Nanette had a real chopped liver sandwich on rye bread (not on the menu -- made from beef liver, lettuce and tomato, but came with mayo -- ask them to omit that if you don't want mayo with your chopped liver). I had a falafel pita. We noticed while ordering that they were making their own challah bread.

There were no knishes, though, and I was really lusting over the possibility of trying one. It seems that not every item on the menu is available every day. If you must have a knish, best to call ahead and see if they have any.

Yudi's seems to be a family operation. The wee ones were cute. Changing the baby's diaper right next to our table was not. It really stank. No toilet paper in the bathroom, either. Yudi's needs to clean up their act.
